DRUNK DRIVING
Drunk Driving Awareness Fact Sheet
Sauveyo Inc. Saving Lives, Building Futures
Our Story
In February 2022, tragedy struck when 17-year-old Terah Sauveur was killed instantly by a teenage drunk driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Just six days later, his grandmother heartbroken also passed away.
Out of this unbearable loss, Sauveyo Inc. was born, with a mission to educate, prevent, and protect youth and families from the devastating impact of drunk driving and substance abuse.
The Crisis in Numbers
New York State (2022)
1,175 total motor vehicle fatalities (highest in a decade)
30% alcohol-related → ~353 deaths
≈29 deaths every month from drunk driving
New York City (2023)
50 deaths tied directly to DWI (24% increase from prior average)
≈4–5 deaths every month from drunk driving
What These Numbers Mean
Every month, dozens of families across New York bury loved ones lost to drunk drivers. These are not accidents — they are preventable tragedies.
For every statistic, there is a story. For Sauveyo, it is Terah’s story. His name reminds us why prevention and education are urgent and necessary.
Sauveyo’s Response
Through community programs, school workshops, and awareness campaigns, we aim to:
Educate at least 1,000 youth annually about the dangers of drunk driving, drugs, and alcohol.
Raise $1M in donations and fundraising to establish a permanent Community Center for prevention and support.
Provide mental health, trauma, and family support services to those impacted by substance-related crashes.
Join the Movement
Together, we can Save Them our sons, daughters, and future leaders.
