Program Name

Mental Health & Awareness in New York and Brooklyn: Focused Community Initiative
🧠 Why It Matters (Context in NYC/Brooklyn)
NYC has seen a rise in youth mental health issues, especially post-pandemic, with anxiety, depression, and trauma being the most reported.
Brooklyn communities, especially in underserved neighborhoods, face barriers to care, stigma, and limited culturally responsive services.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10–24 in NYC.
BIPOC youth are less likely to access mental health care due to fear, stigma, or mistrust.
